On an autumn morning when a cool breeze blew through Yeonnam-dong playground, the moment one woman stood before the camera and sang her first note, the air changed. The owner of that voice—fresher than lemon yet with deep resonance—was Rozeana. Like her name meaning an apricot pink rose, her music reveals a subtle yet vivid presence.
Rozeana, who debuted in 2021 with 'Love Yourself,' was no ordinary newcomer. Having honed her skills as the main vocalist of fusion jazz band 'The Moon jazz band,' she had also been active in recording numerous OST guides and working as a vocal trainer. Her musical spectrum is wide. Based on pop and R&B, she transforms into powerful rock sounds at times, and gentle indie ballads at others.
Rozeana's Story
Rozeana's musical journey was never smooth. After graduating with a master's degree in practical music from Dongduk Women's University Graduate School of Performing Arts, she spent a long time behind the scenes refining other artists' voices. She gained public recognition by appearing on MBC's 'Hidden Singer 6' Hwasa episode in 2020, finishing in 6th place, but her real turning point was the Nonol stage.
Her meeting with composer K.imazine was also an important turning point. The hitmaker who created HYNN (Park Hye-won)'s 'Like Watering Withered Flowers' became her musical partner, producing everything from her debut song to recent works. With the addition of lyricist Choi Gap-won, who has worked with IU and Ha Dong-kyun, she built a solid creative team.
Recently, Rozeana performed alongside Kwon Eun-bi and WOODZ at Catholic Kwandong University's 70th anniversary festival 'NA:VY WAVE,' receiving enthusiastic reactions from over 15,000 audience members. At Wheesung's 20th anniversary fan meeting, she showcased a duet stage, actively continuing collaborations with senior artists.

Nonol VOL 01. Rozeana [ Rosanna ] ’ California Hotel ’
Meet Rozeana at Nonol
Meet their music live at the Singing Playground.
🎵 "Late Spring Cold (Alternative Rock ver.)"
The moment the first guitar riff resonates, it evokes a summer beachside drive. ROSEANA completely reinterpreted 'Late Spring Cold', originally a lyrical ballad, with a powerful rock sound. Over the groove created by the drum's 4-beat kick and distortion guitar, her vocals show amazing transformation. Starting with husky mid-low tones in the verse, she soars to high notes using head voice in the chorus. The most impressive part of the arrangement is the bridge section. An acoustic guitar solo that preserves the original's lyricism is briefly inserted, creating contrast with the rock sound. This is a pop-punk approach reminiscent of Paramore's 'Still Into You' or The 1975's early works. You can understand why over 18,000 people stopped in front of this performance.
🎵 "Last order"
Like its title suggesting a final order, listening to this song feels like watching movie end credits roll. This song, which Rozeana participated in writing, carries the message of 'journeying together like a beautiful fairy tale with someone you love.' The arrangement, centered on piano and strings, maintains an exquisite balance between indie and R&B.
Notable in terms of vocal technique is the falsetto treatment. Progressing comfortably with chest voice in the verses, it transitions to head voice in the chorus part 'Let's go together' creating spatial dimension. This approach is similar to Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You' or domestically, Lee So-ra's ballad songs. The fact that nearly 20,000 people lingered on this song is no mere coincidence.
🎵 "Won't You Go Together"
As fans' reactions prove, this song contains universal emotions that transcend seasons. While it claims to be dawn-mood music, it strangely suits any time of listening. Rozeana starts with the lyrics 'Is there anyone who loves me more than I do?' questioning the essence of love.
The song's structure follows typical indie ballad format, but shows distinction in harmony treatment. The backing vocals stacked at third intervals with the main melody in the chorus create a conversational feeling. This is similar to textures found in Baek Ye-rin's 'That Probably Wasn't Our Fault' or 10cm's early works. This is why over 20,000 listeners resonated with this song.
🎵 "Miro"
In this song that expresses the complex emotions of falling in love through the metaphor of a 'maze,' Rozeana's vocal control shines. To simultaneously capture the excitement and anxiety of unrequited love, she intentionally restrains vibration. Starting with almost straight tone in verses to express anxious feelings, she adds slight vibration in the chorus to express emotional fluctuation.
What stands out in the arrangement is the use of synth pads. Subtly detuned synth sounds layered in the background create an unstable feeling like wandering in a maze. This approach connects with textures found in Lorde's 'Ribs' or Billie Eilish's early works. Over 17,000 people joined this precarious emotional journey.
Wow... I'm going to fall completely for Roseana's charm! The songs are so good too
@Jun-k4b8wThe song is so good and the video atmosphere is so pretty..
@alzartakkarsen995🎵 "California Hotel"
This song, which Rozeana specially prepared for Nonol, best showcases her musical identity. Translating the free and sweet atmosphere of California Hotel into music, she modernly reinterprets the charm of retro pop. The unique rhythm starting with piano introduction shows influences of nu-tro pop like Bruno Mars' '24K Magic' or Dua Lipa's 'Levitating'.
Notable in vocal treatment is the use of scat singing. The jazz-nuanced scat appearing in the 'swaying morning shine' part adds sophistication to the song. This appears to be the result of her jazz band experience. You can see why she was selected as the first artist for the Nonol compilation album.
🎵 "Love Yourself"
Her debut song and the most concentrated display of Rozeana's charm. In this song carrying the message 'love yourself as you are,' she established her own color based on retro pop. The song's structure appears simple in A-B-A'-B' format, but shows different vocal approaches in each section.
Particularly impressive is the transition from verse to chorus. The moment the keyword 'Love yourself' appears, the melody line ascends, naturally building emotional intensity. This melodic composition is a technique found in Taylor Swift's early country pop songs or Carly Rae Jepsen's works. This song, with K.imazine handling lyrics, composition, and arrangement, became an important work defining the first impression of artist Rozeana.
🎵 "That Kind of Heart"
In this song from KBS drama 'School 2021' OST, Rozeana shows another side of herself. Befitting a drama dealing with teenagers' complex emotions, the song delicately portrays the confused hearts of adolescence. The minimal arrangement centered on acoustic guitar and piano is impressive.
Notable in vocals is the restraint in emotional expression. Instead of dramatic high notes or exaggerated vibration, it centers on whisper-like low register singing. This is a similar approach to IU's 'See You on Friday' or Jung Seung-hwan's early ballad songs. As an OST, it succeeded in containing Rozeana's unique sensibility without disrupting the drama's atmosphere.
🎵 "Across the Universe (Original: Baek Ye-rin)"
Baek Ye-rin's 'Across the Universe', which ROSEANA introduced as her most beloved song. Compared to the original, ROSEANA's unique interpretation stands out. While Baek Ye-rin's version had a dreamy and abstract feeling, ROSEANA's version contains more realistic and concrete emotions. The biggest difference is the rhythm. While maintaining the original's slow tempo, she heightens tension with subtle off-beat treatment. Especially in the 'across the universe' lyrics part, entering a beat faster than the original emphasizes a sense of urgency. This careful reinterpretation is truly the real value of cover songs. You can see why ROSEANA chose this song as her favorite.
🎵 "Late Spring Cold (Ballad Version)"
Released in 2022, this song occupies an important position in ROSEANA's body of work. In this ballad dealing with the still painful separation despite spring's arrival, like the title suggests, she put powerful vocals in the forefront for the first time. This performance in the natural setting of Daegwallyeong Sky Ranch in Gangwon Province holds special meaning. At the song's climax at the 3:20 mark, ROSEANA's vocals reach their peak. She expresses emotional explosion by drawing out the lyrics 'late spring cold' in high register for a long time. The vibration control in this part is almost reminiscent of Adele's 'Someone Like You' or Wheesung's ballad songs. Her voice resonating in nature left a deep impression on over 1,700 viewers.
🎵 "Full Version Live — Complete Form Charm"
Rozeana's first Nonol full live at Yeonnam-dong Neuti Children's Playground. A 20-minute journey from 'Love yourself' to 'California hotel,' where you can experience all her representative songs at once. The raw charm unique to live performance, different from studio recordings, is captured intact.
Particularly notable is the natural connection between songs. Each song is independently complete while forming one story overall, showing impressive composition skills. This appears to be the result of her jazz band experience and understanding of live performance. Her voice under the clear autumn morning sunlight proves that the description 'fresher than lemon charm' is no exaggeration.
🎵 "Best Collection — Cooling the Summer"
A live collection cool enough to overcome heat waves and typhoons. Starting with Rozeana's 'California Hotel,' you can experience the charm of four female solo artists including Yu Ji-woo, Jang Hee-won, and daisy all at once. The fact that nearly 50,000 people felt coolness through this video is no mere coincidence.
Particularly notable in Rozeana's part is the arrangement changes. Setting the tempo slightly faster than the original and emphasizing percussion maximized the summer freshness. Such careful arrangement modifications prove that the same song can show different charms suited to different situations. This shows that Nonol is not just live videos but planned content.
After seeing Yoo Jiwoo on Nonol, I've been searching and listening to all their songs
@heoappqlrh🎵 "Complete Performance"
Finally revealed ROSEANA's full version live. From 'Late Spring Cold (Alternative Rock ver.)' to 'Last order', it's a gem of a video where you can check her musical spectrum at once. It proves that the expression 'diverse tones like apricot-pink roses' is no exaggeration. Her appearance, based on pop and R&B while sometimes transforming into gentle ballads and sometimes into powerful rock, truly deserves to be called versatile. You can understand why over 12,000 people were captivated by this complete performance. If you want to confirm the real skills and potential of the artist ROSEANA, this is a must-watch video.
🎵 "Music Videos and Special Videos"
Official music videos showing different charms from Nonol live performances. Especially the AI music video for 'California Hotel' was created with the motif of the movie 'Call Me By Your Name', becoming a hot topic. It's a work that visually implements the cinematic sensibility of ROSEANA's music. In the 'Late Spring Cold' music video, you can see her appearance like a herald of spring, and in the 'Love Yourself' live clip, you can simultaneously feel the freshness of her debut days and current maturity. Each video shows different aspects of the artist ROSEANA, allowing glimpses into her musical growth process.
